On hold until further notice due to Covid 19.
The Challenge is a one-week hike, bike or a combination of both through some of the most beautiful scenery in South Africa. The aim is to raise funds for paediatric burn survivors and raise awareness of the many challenges they face.
Donate today through Just Giving
Please help to reduce the long-term suffering of children who have been badly burnt or traumatised by the horrors of fire. Help us reach £500,000 for child burns victims.
DonateThe event is also a fantastic way to improve fitness, set yourself challenges and experience travelling through some of the most spectacular and remote parts of South Africa. You are sure to make lots of friends, have fun and test your stamina. Most importantly, of course, you’ll also be helping to change the lives of young burn and scald survivors by contributing to some of the most useful, practical and important healthcare and education projects in Africa.
The hike-bike challenge takes place every year in late October or early November. You can choose to hike through more than a hundred kilometres of pristine wilderness or cycle for 400km or a combination of both. Either way, fast or slow, you get to see and experience a part of the world which is simply stunning.
Participants come from across the world. Some are young, some are old, but all are enthusiastic, dedicated and ready for a challenge.
On our testimonials page you can read about the experiences of participants from previous years.
